Chen Xin, male, pseudonym Di Gu Zi, Sha Jin, San Jin, was born in 1964 in Longyan, Fujian. He graduated from Nanchang Army College and Xiamen University. He served in the army for 20 years. He is Curator Assistant of Xiamen Art Museum, a Class B artist, a member of Chinese Artists Association, Director of Fujian Artists Association and Vice-President of Xiamen Artists Association. He is good at traditional Chinese landscape painting and lacquer painting. He has held many solo exhibitions for many times and participated in various national and provincial exhibitions and won awards. He also took part in planning and organization of 1st National Lacquer Painting Exhibition, Xiamen Lacquer Painting Biennial Exhibition and 11th National Art Exhibition Lacquer Painting Session.

Academic Activities, Exhibitions and Awards:

2000   held Millennium Chen Xin Landscape Painting Exhibition in Xiamen Library, long scroll Beautiful Xiamen and Ode to Fujian Mountains were collected by Xiamen International Convention Center.

2001  his traditional Chinese paintings won the Gold Prize of Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in 2001 China International Science and Technology Expo, the Innovation Award of 4th Contemporary Chinese Landscape Painting Exhibition and the Silver Prize of 11th “Galaxy Award” of Ministry of Culture.

2001  participated in the curation of 1st National Lacquer Painting Exhibition.

2003  traditional Chinese painting was exhibited in Wellington Art Exchange Exhibition.

2004  organized and joined Xiamen Painter and Calligrapher Delegation to Japan for  China-Japan Art Exchange Exhibition; participated in planning and coordination of 110h National Art Exhibition Sculpture Session.

2005  participated in 1st National Young and Middle-Aged Academic Invitational Exhibition; participated in planning, preparation and coordination of National Lacquer Painting Biennial Exhibition in celebration of settling down of Chinese Artists Association in Xiamen; participated  in curation of Xiamen 2005 Chinese Lacquer Painting Exhibition.

2006  traditional Chinese painting won Excellence Award at 2006 National Chinese Painting Exhibition; organized and joined Xiamen Painter and Calligrapher Delegation to Taiwan for Xiamen·Kaohsiung·Keelung Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition; participated in Strait Connection·Central Chinese Style National Chinese Painting Exhibition; participated in curating of New Art Museum Opening Exhibitions.

2007  participated in organization and coordination of Xiamen 2007 Chinese Lacquer Painting Exhibition and Xiamen International Lacquer Painting Invitational Exhibition.

2008  his traditional Chinese painting won Excellence Award at 4th Asia New Conception Art Exchange Exhibition.

2009  lacquer painting Mountain In Silence For Thousands Of Years was exhibited in 11th National Art Exhibition and his academic paper on lacquer painting was selected and discussed by Art Creation Forum of 11th National Art Exhibition.

2010  planned, coordinated and organized National Art Creation Project Exhibition of Major Historical Subjects Xiamen Session and Xiamen Art Report Exhibition of Fujian Art Exhibition in Beijing; lacquer painting Mountain In Silence For Thousands Of Years was selected for Fujian Art Exhibition in Beijing; traditional Chinese painting Echo Of Great Mountain joined in Hakka Earth Buildings National Traditional Chinese Painting Exhibition.

2012  started creation of One lacquer painting series; lacquer painting One Bowl Of Rice joined in 3rd National Lacquer Painting Exhibition; Shanxi Workers Daily delivered a full-page report on Chen Xins traditional Chinese painting.

2013  lacquer painting One Lamp joined in 2013 China (Xiamen) Lacquer Painting Exhibition; participated in 2013 China-South Korea Lacquer Painting Art Exchange Exhibition; participated in Painting In Flourishing Age National Famous Artists Chinese Painting Invitational Exhibition with traditional Chinese painting; traditional Chinese painting and academic paper was published in Guangming Daily; held Home Beyond The CloudsChen Xins Landscape Paintings Exhibition in Quanzhou Hong Xin Gallery; published Chen Xins Painting Collection; took part in a sketching tour to Lu Mountain.

2014  participated in Shandong International Art Biennial Exhibition with traditional Chinese painting;  lacquer painting One Lamp was published in 4th Issue of Fine Arts; participated in sketching tours to Pengzhou, Sichuan and Linan, Zhejiang; participated in Mixed FlavorsLiu Weihai, Chen Xin, Zhang Jinbang, Yang Dasheng and Huang Wenyuan Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition.

2015  participated in Art Xiamen Art Expo with traditional Chinese painting; participated in national artists sketching tour to Dongyang, Zhejiang and Xiamen artists sketching tour to western Sichuan.
